Hiking, fishing, and boating are just a few of the outdoor activities readily available in Oakland.

The Ramapo River and Potash Lake both offer great opportunities for canoeing, kayaking, and fishing; and trails around the lake and along the river accessible to most people; and, fly fishing in the Ramapo is very popular from spring through the fall.

Hiking opportunities also exist off of Skyline Drive with lower and upper parking lots situated on the right side of Skyline as you proceed up the mountain.

Biking is another sport that is popular in Oakland. While the hilly terrain is occasionally a challenge depending on the route, many bike enthusiasts appreciate the abundance of picturesque roads that connect Oakland to other popular destination points.
